Happy New Year!

Bhutto Assassination Update

Now I'm really confused... I haven't read todays paper yet so this isn't completely up to date. But as of yesterday the Pakistani government refused assistance from any other country, including the US, in the investigation into Bhutto's death. One of her aides and three doctors from the hospital where Bhutto was treated claim she had a gun shot wound in her neck, making it possible that she did not die of a skull fracture as the government claims. The Al-Qaeda group the Pakistani government has claimed is responsible for the attack has denied any involvement. Bhutto's 19 year-old son has been named leader of her party in her Last Will and Testament.

And thats the end of my fast, unorganized facts.

Bhutto Assassination Update

A New York Times article from this morning.
Just in case the link doesn't work, here are a few facts:
Pakistan's government says they have intercepted communications that prove Al Qaeda is behind Benazir Bhutto's assassination. They have also said that Ms. Bhutto died of a skull fracture after hitting her head on a sunroof lever when the suicide bomber exploded. There is no evidence that she was shot. She has been buried in her family's mausoleum.

It's Cold

Not really. But it will be where I'm going so this will be very necessary... Mommy says I look like Nanook of the North.

Auto Show

Today the family and I headed downtown to the San Diego International Auto Show. Mommy's looking for a new car so we checked out a few and were impressed by the Kia's. Melissa and I liked them because the seats were nice and cushie. And of course Melissa had to sit in all the big trucks which there weren't that many of.
We also checked out the concept and themed cars. I liked the Barbie 300 and the car with the hot tub.
Works for me!
Then for dinner it was off to the Hard Rock Cafe where I had a delicious pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes. Yum... And luckily there was a birthday so we got to see all the employees do the YMCA. That was cool.
Now its only 8:30pm and I am so ready for bed... Even though I didn't wake up until noon today...
I love being on vacation.

Benazir Bhutto Assassinated

Benazir Bhutto was shot and assassinated in Pakistan by a suicide bomber on Thursday. Bhutto had re-entered Pakistan after being exiled in 1992 when the current prime minister, Pervez Musharraf, declared a state of emergency, suspended the constitution, arrested supreme court judges and shut down the nations newspapers.

Now onto my opinion: My jaw dropped when I heard this story on the news. I have been following Pakistan's situation since Musharraf declared the state of emergency and Bhutto was one of the only hopes I saw for the country. She wanted to restore democracy to the country and was supported by many of the people. She was elected twice in democratic elections but was kicked out by extremists because she is a woman.

This is a tragedy for both Pakistan and the world. Now Musharraf has no opposition to fight against the suspension of the constitution and the violation of Pakistani peoples rights. The United States is speaking out against the decision but has not cut a significant amount of aid due to the fact that Musharraf is an ally in the War on Terror.

I'll keep you updated as more information is released or you can watch the news and read the paper.

I also got an A in News Media and Society which goes toward my major and is the only class that truly matters so I'm good.

Now its time for a new (and hopefully easier) semester.

I Have Now Officially Left My Kimi in San Francisco

And it was sad. But we had a great time watching movies, shopping and of course talking and being silly girls.

Wednesday I caught an earlier flight and came in at about 8am. Kimi picked me up and the fun began. We went to the movies with Kimi's friend and saw Enchanted. A very cute movie starring some unknown actress and McDreamy. Good times.

Then we had some tasty pizza and headed to the Stanford mall. If there is ever a day I can actually afford to go shopping in that mall than its because either a) become famous or b) married rich. I did manage to find a bracelet (going to be a gift) and a pretty necklace for myself at one of the lower end stores, Macy's... And Kimi and I bought matching chenille scarves at a store I had never heard of called Lucy. And, of course, we took a trip to Starbucks.

We had dinner with her family. That was some tasty-ness. Then more movie watching, Stardust this time. Also a good movie. And some sleep.

Kimi took her final th next morning so I slept in until about 10am which was nice since I had woken up at 4am the previous morning... Then there was some more shopping more in my range, the Thrift Store. More movie watching, Rent and Mean Girls. What a combination. Then even more shopping but this time at Borders and Barnes and Noble. Then more food with the family (minus a younger brother) and then a brisk walk (it was freezing) down a well decorated street. My favorite house had no decorations except for a giant blow-up Grinch. Go rebels.

My flight home went well and here I am. Since I came home there's been more shopping, some hanging out and general merriment. Today I didn't wake up until 11am.

That's what I call a vacation!

I'm Home!

Woohoo! My flight went well and Mommy and Daddy were there to pick me up at the airport. Then Daddy left from a different terminal for San Jose and Mommy and I went to La Salsa and Starbucks. Yeah Mexican food!

After that we picked up Topher and then Melissa and then went home.

Then I sat around and relaxed for a while on the couch. Alisha picked me up and we went to Starbucks (that would be my third time there that day) and had an awesome time catching up and being chatty girls.

Then Sasha picked me up and we met Christian at the movie theater and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks. That movie was awesome! Holy NUTS!

And then I finally got home and went to bed 24 hours after I had woken up to get here.

Today Mommy and I are going shopping and Sasha and I will be going to San Diego for some Korean BBQ!

Good times. I love being home!

Finals and Other News

Wow, its been a while since I posted anything. Sorry about that...

So anyway, two finals down, two to go! Luckily one of my English finals was due weeks ago so I don't have to worry about it now. And I finished my Journalism final and turned it in on Monday.

Now all that's left is another English paper and a Greek final on Friday (that one is just not going to go well no matter what but its ok because I don't need the class).

I should probably be working on those right now but instead I'm informing you that I need to be working on them... 0.o...

I have one book to report on:

The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks

I'm continuing with my Sparks fetish and this was a good one to end the semester with. There was some suspense, of course a good love story and dead people! I've always thought that a book is not really all that good if there are no dead people. That probably comes from my love of Mary Higgins Clark where theres always at least one dead person if not several. Anyway, good book with a nice vengeful ending that made me smile.

In other news:
I was watching a B20 video when John mentioned the fact that NBC is bringing back American Gladiators. This is probably due to the writers strike and lack of new material but seriously people, American Gladiators? Really? Are you serious? Please tell me you're kidding! You're not? Oh man, thats just wrong...

In other, other news:
I'm coming home in on Monday!!!!!!! That's only 5 days from now... AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya, I'm pretty excited. I still have finals to finish, presents to buy and wrap, a room (and desk) to clean, laundry to do and a suitcase to pack. Should prove to be fun.

In more other news:
Thanks to everyone who viewed my video and sent it to all their friends! Please remember if you have a YouTube account to rate, favorite and subscribe here. Thanks again!

Music Video of ME!

Thats right! And now I have a music video of my very own. One of the gentlemen I work with at the Blue Heron owns Planet Ten Entertainment LLC and when he found out I play the guitar and sing he asked if he could make a music video of one of my songs and I said yes. So here it is! (By the way, if you have a YouTube account, PLEASE go to YouTube.com and rate, favorite, comment and subscribe! And if you don't have an account then make one! It's really important that we get the word out and that LOTS of people see these videos. Thanks!)

The End is Near

I am sooooo ready for school to be over. And it almost is! I just finished my final presentation in English and I have half a journalism project to finish, an English paper to write and a Greek final to take and I will be done.

And then I fly home! I am so excited about going home and seeing everyone again and enjoying the warmer weather.

December 17th can't come soon enough.

D.C.

Finally I have some time to upload the pictures from our trip to D.C. We had a great time walking around and seeing everything. There certainly was a lot of walking...

Visiting the war memorials and the Holocaust Museum was quite a sobering experience. Those are things you do have to experience for yourself.

Well, here we go:

First thing we saw when we got out of the car was the Department of Education and a little barn with "No Child Left Behind". We thought it would be appropriate for Mommy, a teacher to stand underneath the sign...
